Summary
Small solar chimney prototypes in Egypt drive either a bladeless vortex-type generator or a standard propeller-style wind rotor, and concrete and rubber-shred collector floors are compared using an analytical model, CFD and field measurements. Every configuration yields only fractions of a watt. Against the concrete-floored chimney alone, the bladeless hybrid delivers about 61% more power and the rubber floor about 39% more.
