Summary
An energy-balance model of a solar chimney serving one room of a home under hot, arid conditions is run with real weather data to identify the geometry that best meets standard ventilation needs. A chimney tilted at 45° with a 0.2 m air gap supplied the target airflow for about 88% of daytime hours, and DesignBuilder CFD plus published experiments support the model.
