Summary
CFD simulations of a vertical solar chimney examine how enlarging the inlet horizontally and vertically, at two heat flux levels, affects airflow and heating. Induced flow rises whenever the enlarged inlet height reaches at least the channel gap, because the recirculation zone shrinks. Temperature rise and thermal efficiency barely change, since the thermal boundary layer on the heated wall stays much the same.
